Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

Peripheral nerve stimulation is a cutting-edge therapy that involves the targeted application of electrical impulses to peripheral nerves decreasing pain in the affected body part.

Useful to treat severe pain in the knee, hip, shoulder and refractory head aches, Dr. Burke uses a device manufactured by Nalu.

The relief you've been looking for

Peripheral nerve stimulation is a drug-free pain management approach that uses mild electrical impluses to block pain signals from various parts of your body before they get to your brain.  With the Nalu system, most patients will not be aware of these impluses.

4 steps to pain control

If Dr. Burke decides a Nalu PNS system is the right fit for you, you get to “test drive” the system before a permanent system is implanted.

A 7 day trial will need to be approved by your insurance, and then scheduled in the office.  The permanent implant will take place at the Copper Ridge Surgery Center.  Then – you resume life as normal … only pain free.

It is unlikely that the implantable pulse generator will need to be replaced for 18 years.

The battery will never need to be replaced because it is external.
