Vertebrogenic pain is a distinct back pain caused by damage to vertebral endplates.  This can happen from disc degeneration or the general wear and tear that occurs from living life.

The basivertebral nerve lies within the vertebrae.  It carries pain signals from the inflamed endplates to the brain.

How the procedure works:

Intracept provides relief by heating the basivertebral nerve with a radiofrequency probe to stop it from sending pain signals to the brain.

It is a same day procedure performed at the outpatient surgery center at Copper Ridge.
