Recognized for Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Dorsal Root Stimulation (DRG), and Chronic Pain in Traverse City, Northern Michigan. Dr. Burke has been in practice as a Double Board-Certified (Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine) Physician for over 35 years. Dr. Richard Burke and his team work to create individually tailored treatment plans for patients to relieve chronic pain and increase function while decreasing dependence on narcotic medications and steroid injections. His focus is on each patient’s functional goals while providing compassionate care to all patients to help them re-live life again!

Pain Management Services

Dr. Burke hopes that his extensive experience will help determine the best treatment options for patients with neurological diseases and chronic pain disorders to optimize current treatment paradigms and understand how such functional neurosurgical treatments work in the management of these disorders.

He can offer a thorough patient assessment and evaluation for treatment that includes a risk-benefit analysis.

Dr. Burke astutely considers the pain management needs of each special population that is confronted with unique challenges associated with acute and chronic pain, including the following: children/youth, older adults, women, pregnant women, individuals with chronic relapsing pain conditions such as sickle cell disease, racial and ethnic populations, active duty military and reserve service members, and Veterans, and patients with cancer who require palliative care.
